Sleeping Beauty is an animated feature film produced by Walt Disney Productions. It was released on January 29,1959 and is based on Charles Perrault’s 1697 fairy tale, “La Belle au bois dormant”, which translates to “The Beauty Sleeping in the Wood”. Directed by Clyde Geronimi, Eric Larson, Wolfgang Reitherman, and Les Clark, this film was notable for being the first animated feature filmed in the widescreen Super Technirama 70 format.
