SpongeBob SquarePants is an animated television series created by Stephen Hillenburg. It premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999 and follows the adventures of its title character and other residents of the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. The series is Nickelodeon’s longest-running animated series and one of the longest-running American animated television series.
