The Lone Ranger is an animated television series produced by Filmation. It is based on the Lone Ranger character from the long-running Western franchise and features the masked hero and his companion Tonto fighting injustice across the American frontier. Developed for Saturday morning television, the series originally aired on CBS in 1980 and 1981 as part of The Tarzan / Lone Ranger Adventure Hour and later from 1981 to 1982 as part of The Tarzan / Lone Ranger / Zorro Adventure Hour.
